Bon dia,
Here’s a quick behind the scenes look at KETL - The new trail run shorts and boxer briefs that literally took us years to develop, 3 day / 2 night bikepacking trip through the Lost Sierra, and some inspiration.
What we are working on.
Yes I’m serious, the Blackwood Trail Run Shorts and the Egg Cradle Boxer Brief did in fact take us 2 and a half years to develop. Why? Well, mainly because we wanted to get them perfect. We tested dozens of fabrics for both. Once we landed on the right fabric, we wanted the fit to be something that got as close to that “naked feeling” as possible. Plus, we wanted the two to work perfectly in unison while worn together. And, we think we nailed it. The Egg Cradle brief keeps the boys in place. Not too tight, not too loose. All while offering a no slip, no ride up leg. And the Blackwood shorts are so light that they glide effortlessly over the brief…like warm butter on toast. 😉
What we are up to.
I spent 3 days and 2 nights out in the Lost Sierra backcountry with four of my closest buddies. We rode 115 miles and climbed around 14,000 feet. A bit of a grind, but totally worth it.
No cell service most of the time, which made the whole experience even sweeter. Just loaded bikes, fly rods, good company, and some of the most serene landscapes you could ask for. We fished alpine streams, swam in every swimming hole we could find, and laughed our faces off the entire way. Nights were spent under the stars, and days were a mix of monster climbs, epic views, fast descents and the occasional café stops in small Sierra towns for greasy burgers and cold beer.
The whole trip was a reminder of how fun and rewarding it is to get off the grid with friends, push yourself a bit, and just soak in the wild. I'm already looking forward to the next one.
A bit of inspiration.
