In New Mexico, visiting family, I logged miles along the Rio Grande, trying to outrun endless family meals and desserts. Back in Reno on New Year’s Day, I capped it off with a city run and my annual Truckee River cold plunge, instantly erasing any remaining holiday softness. My nips went numb, but my soul was rebooted.
