The original Folly Pullover hoodie was a great hoodie, but we knew we could make improvements. For V.2, we've updated the fabric to be more durable and snag resistant while also increasing the sleeve length. See, we do read reviews and listen to your input! This active hoodie still regulates your body temperature while effectively managing heat, due in part to the fabric selection which offers the perfect combination of softness, comfort and performance. Form fit. soft active fabric, comfortable. It adapts to temperature changes very well. It has become my all-time favorite sweatshirt.
I bought this for a Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) through hike. For that purpose, it is unsatisfactory. It weighs 1.3 pounds.; the average hoodie on the PCT weighs less than a pound. Additionally, its warmth-to-weight ratio is poor, I was cold at about 55F. The wind cuts right through It; so it does seem to have good evaporation qualities. It may be good at keeping a runner cool when it gets wet (sweat/rain) The ads/video show it used for outdoor sports such as trail running. In that role it may be good, but be ready for it to put on more weight than an average hoodie when it gets wet.
I have the previous version in this jacket which I wear all the time and I really like this jacket…..A LOT. The fit is perfect for me and the features are very good. I also like the feel of the fabric. However, around the collar area it has already started piling up in only a month of wear. If it starts piling that quickly, the fabric can’t hold up to hiking, biking, traveling, etc. As much as I like this coat, it will likely go back.
I got my boyfriend two of these sweatshirts for Christmas. He followed the instructions for how to wash & dry them, but they started pilling around the neck line after the first wash. We absolutely love Ketl and have a ton of their pants, but we weren't as stoked about what happened to these expensive sweatshirts after just one wash.
