Stretchy waistband with an internal drawstring that can be tied outside or inside. Two small accessory loops for keys, sunglasses or whatever else.

Crafted from a unique, high-performance mesh-knit poly that dries incredibly fast and allows the air to flow in and heat to flow out. Non-shiny, non-swooshy and featherweight.

Regarding UPF Rating...
Our Vent Pants/Shorts technically don’t carry an official UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating. That’s because the fabric is ventilated with extremely tiny needle-sized holes designed for maximum breathability. Since direct UV light can pass through those minuscule vents under very specific conditions, the pants can’t be certified with a UPF rating.
That said, in real-world use, it’s virtually impossible to get sunburned through them or get any meaningful UV exposure to your skin at all. For UV rays to reach your skin through those tiny vents, you’d have to be lying completely still in direct sunlight for several hours without moving at all. In normal use, there will never be any meaningful UV exposure through the fabric.
However, if you have heightened concerns about UV exposure due to skin sensitivity, medical reasons, or personal preference, we totally understand. In that case, we’d recommend checking out our Shenanigan Pants, which are a similarly lightweight option but fully UPF-rated for added peace of mind.

The tagline isn't kidding when it says these are like AC for your junk. It's starting to look a little like fall here, mainly because everything's dying from the heat and looking crispy, but we've had weeks of 3-digit high temps with little reprieve. I got these shorts just in time to make things tolerable. I sized up to have them be just a little loose and a little longer, and I especially love the inner pocket to keep my cell phone from flopping around. I don't love athletic shorts but these combine the benefits of something light and airy like that (even more than most) without whatever you have in your pockets flopping all around. Highly recommend!
After a long day at work or relaxing around the house, I usually throw on some sweats. But I decided to try the vent lightweight shorts, and I’m glad I did. These are by far my favorite gear to wear. I haven’t worked out in them yet, but for now they are perfect for relaxing.

The Vent Lightweight Active shorts are versatile, packable, and durable making them perfect for travel. I own multiple pairs and take them, along with my Vent Pants, on every trip.
Recently I made a roadtrip to Alaska in my Sprinter van. In preparation for the trip, I was looking for clothing which I could wear over and over without having an extensive wardrobe. So I ordered the KETL Vent Shorts with a 9” inseam. Even though they fit the bill, the 9” option proved to be too baggy so I ordered the 7” option. These were perfect for the rigors of road travel and were easy to launder while on the road. In addition, I bought a pair of Vent pants for those days when I needed to cover up my legs. Good thing that I did because I had to protect myself from the vicious Alaskan mosquitoes. I was so impressed with these shorts that upon return, I ordered three more pairs to complement my original order. It was definitely a good decision. I’m glad I made that decision.

The shorts are just what I’ve been looking for! You have the perfect placement on the side zip pocket for my series 13 Apple phone plus the zipper package to secure a billfold makes perfect sense although it’s surprising how many other short brand don’t have the feature. Also, the nice wide drawstring to secure the shorts are another benefit I appreciate. Like everybody’s shorts anymore these seem a little pricey to begin with, but when I think of being able to wear them for years, and if I don’t get guilt tripped out having the realization you guys will actually patch them up if I tear them makes these a great short all the way around. Good job KETL.

I bought a pair of these babies a few years ago, now they have been embedded in my outdoor life. Whether I am backpacking for a week deep in the Grand Canyon backcountry, bikepacking on the Arizona Trail, or packrafting on the Colorado River. Plainly put, this is what I'm wearing. They're thin, really thin so you you stay as cool as a pair of shorts can get you but they're also rugged! Rugged enough to slide down granite, cacti, travertine and limestone and still ready for the next obstacle.
