It's often not about the bike, the route, the gear, the miles traveled or elevation gained. It's about how all that and more combined creates an experience. How that experience is fun. How it leaves some cool photos in your phone, a story to tell and a feeling of happiness inside you.
It's about that feeling of aw, like when you see a mysterious old shack in the middle of nowhere in a place you've never been before. Breathing fresh air, laughing, pushing yourself, enjoying some adrenaline and maybe even a little misery.
Get out of normality, get outside and do some shit you've never done before.
Pictured above are some shots & clips of @ask_liam and myself @jeffcayley as we ventured out for a route I mapped out based on satellite imagery. We hiked our bikes a lot, walked through a few miles of overgrown mustard plant foxtail hell and checked the map a few dozen times. Was it a bike ride? Was it a hike? Who cares. It was an incredibly fun way to spend 5 hours on a Saturday 😁.
