The Blackwood Trail Run 5″ shorts are meticulously engineered to provide the ultimate balance of lightness, functionality, style, and freedom on every outing. With a precise 5″ inseam and a featherweight, quick-dry fabric, they shrug off moisture and bounce so you can stay focused on your stride. A sweat resistant secure zippered rear pocket keeps your phone or music safe, while two additional zippered stash pockets carry keys, gels, cards (or even that emergency gummy bear) with zero bounce. Rear phone pocket: 8.25" across at the top, 7.25" at the bottom, and 4" tall - plenty of space to keep your phone snug and bounce-free. This pocket will accommodate most modern phones without a case and some with a slim case. Your best bet will be to measure your phone/case.

These shorts are great in a number of ways. The fabric is featherweight and the fit is perfect -- just the right length for running. I also enjoy that the phone pocket actually fits a normal sized phone with case comfortably. I do miss having side pockets. While just having rear pockets is streamlined, it is annoying before/after a run to have nowhere to quick stash your keys, phone, whatever. Also I got the white colorway, they do ok with sweat and thankfully are not see through, but they do get darker when wet so sweat is a bit obvious. Some fabrics don't change noticeable when wet, but these do a bit. Maybe get black if you are sweaty.

These shorts stay dry and have great pockets. I really like them.
I crashed and burned during a hot/humid 25k last month while wearing my new Blackwood Trail shorts for the first time. Not only did they not tear, but they don't have a hint of staining from the mud, dirt, blood, or sweat. These are just amazing as every other Ketl item I own (lots).
