Our mission with the Shenanigan Shorts was to blend the durability and utility of outdoor shorts with the comfort and clean look of everyday shorts. Lightweight, easy to move in, and thoughtfully designed with useful features you’ll actually use and appreciate. The unique nylon twill looks and feels similar to denim, but it’s much lighter, dries much faster, and is far more durable, all without the shine or swooshy-ness of typical outdoor shorts.
They are loaded with practical details without looking overly technical. A side zipper pocket fits a large phone, two hidden rear zipper pockets keep valuables secure, and deep mesh lined front pockets include a small media pocket for the little stuff. The grippy waistband pairs a snap closure with a built-in, TSA friendly G hook belt, so you can snug them down when needed or tuck the belt away and let the waistband stretch naturally.
Water resistant, moisture wicking, quick drying, and built with a gusseted construction for unrestricted movement, these are shorts made for hot hikes, scrambling, travel days, and everything in between. Add in useful details like utility loops for sunglasses or keys, and you end up with the kind of shorts you get used to fast and keep reaching for all summer.

I started with a couple pairs of the Shenanigan pants and loved them so this was the next logical step. The built-in belt, side zipper pocket, water resistant material, love them.
There are those that have said “a Don never wears shorts… “. Man, they don’t know what they are missing! Thank you, Ketlmtn, for making me a believer. Only thing I could ask for is maybe more colors !
This is my first pair of Ketl shorts. I really like the Shenanigans. Very comfortable. I really enjoy the light weight and ease of movement that the Shenanigans allow. I had my doubts about the built in belt system, but it really works - along with the gripper strip on the waist band.
My suggestion - offer more colors.
After the successful trial of the shenanigan pants, I decided to purchase three pairs of the shenanigan outdoor shorts for a hiking trip to Norway. I have been using the shorts and pants on my trails and have been very happy with the performance. Good fit with a little stretch, durable but breathable fabric, beefy zippers and thoughtful details make it a great performer. Don’t change, Ketl!
Love the shorts. Zippered pockets combined with open pockets. Adjustable waist, loop for keys, side pocket, dry fast. Bought 3 pair of the Shanigans , two of the grey. Would have bought another pair if the khaki color was available, those tend to sell out quickly. I really enjoy KTL Mtn shorts. Haven’t purchased shirts yet or long pants yet but will later this year.
Been looking for the daily wear shorts for a while and these are it. A bit on the pricy side sure, but absolutely worth it. Bought two more pairs after my first test run. Literally zero complaints. I typically wear 30-31 so went with the medium and they’re a perfect fit.
These shorts are amazing the quality is beyond my expectations. Highly recommended KETL gear. I have purchased 2 pair of Tomfoolery pants, a couple hoodies and 2 pair of Hybrid shorts so I am not a first time customer but these shorts are outstanding.

These are, without a doubt, the best pair of shorts I've ever owned. Fantastic fabric, very comfortable, and great pocket situation. I love the belt and utility loops. There's nothing about these shorts I don't like. I love the secure zippered pockets and the handy pockets within a pocket as well. I'll definitely be buying another pair.

Do you have the shenanigan shorts in 12in inseam?
The Shenanigan shorts only come in 9" inseam. Check out the Skid Mark MTB short though. It uses the same fabric as the Shenanigan shorts and pants and it comes in 12" inseam. Has a few extra pockets and a similar fit.
