Not Your Typical MTB Shorts.
Creating the perfect pair of mountain bike shorts is tricky. They need to be exceptionally durable, actually comfortable to pedal in for hours, and have all the right pockets and trim details. We spent years getting those things right with the Skid Mark Twill Shorts.
The nylon twill is the same fabric we use in our Shenanigan Pants and Shorts. It’s durable, soft to the touch and super stretchy, with a denim-like texture and none of the swooshy noise. Lightweight, breathable and quick to dry, it’s comfortable for hours of pedaling and feels just as good hanging out after the ride.
The fit is purpose-built for being on the bike. A 12-inch inseam with a slightly longer front cut, plus enough room and stretch for knee pads. A higher back rise keeps you covered in the saddle, while a grippy waistband and full-length adjustable belt with a G-hook and snap closure keep the shorts snug and in place.
The two side zipper pockets face backward for easy access in the saddle. We obsessed over their placement to keep your phone and other essentials from jostling around with every pedal stroke. Two rear zipper pockets and two traditional front hand pockets handle the before-and-after-ride essentials. All six are lined with thin, stretchy mesh to keep them light, breathable and quick to dry.
Laser-cut ventilation at the crotch and above the rear pockets lets air flow where you actually need it. And a couple of accessory loops, one up front and one out back, give you a place to hang your sunglasses or keys.
And if you damage them, we’ll repair them for free, for life.

- Pockets: 6 mesh-lined pockets: 2 traditional front hand pockets, 2 rear-facing side zipper pockets positioned to reduce bounce while pedaling, and 2 rear zipper pockets.
- Extras: Front and rear accessory loops keep sunglasses or keys within reach.

Wash / Care Instructions
These shorts are built to get dirty. When it’s time for a wash, empty the pockets, close the zippers, and wash inside out in cold water with like colors.
Use a mild detergent and skip fabric softener. Hang dry to help preserve the fabric’s stretch and extend the life of the shorts. You don’t need to baby them, but a little basic care will keep them in the riding rotation longer.

These shorts are literally the best. I am logging hundreds of miles on my bike and these are the only shorts I wear, even in the Texas heat. I bought a grey and black pair. The pockets and zippers are the perfect size to hold the things you need. They stretch, they breathe, they dry out quickly. These are the only mtb shorts I will be wearing.

I was a bit skeptical when buying these, but they really deserve the praise! The fastening system lets you get a precise fit in the waist, the silicone material does a proper job of preventing crack exposure, and the pockets just work. Fit is solid when wearing Fox kneepads, and no swishing when pedaling (unlike some of my previous pairs of MTB shorts). Breathable, comfy, good features. Can’t ask for much else
These shorts are great! I’ve worn them on multiple rides in the front range of the Rockies in the summer heat. They fit great, dry super fast and have the perfect amount of stretch. The feature that I like the best are the two vertical zipped thigh pockets. They fit my iPhone 14Pro perfectly. I find I have to tap my phone to make sure it’s still there. If there is anything I would change, I would make the waist not ride so high. A slightly shorter waist, less between the crotch and waistline. Otherwise perfect.

My all-time favorite mtb riding shorts. I have both colors grey and brown as well the padded riding shorts underneath. The fit and design are great and well thought out by somebody who obviously mountain bikes. So good, I purchased a pair for my son too.
Very impressed with these shorts. The fit is athletic without being restrictive, and the Cordura Pro fabric feels tough enough for trail riding while remaining comfortable. The quality and attention to detail are excellent, and they've exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be buying more KETL gear in the future.
