The mission with the Skid Mark mountain bike shorts was to nail all the useful features you’d want on the bike, tailored with a mountain bike specific fit and a durable fabric that’s stretchy, comfy and lacks swooshy’ness. We went with a progressive fit that’s not too loose, nor too tight, preventing your shorts from getting caught on your saddle. The length and cut is perfect to cover knee pads while the higher back rise on the waist prevents plumbers crack while seated. Packed with more useful features like two side zipper pockets and two rear zipper pockets, a stretchy waistband with built in belt to dial in the perfect fit, and our not patented at all "arse steam release tech" which is our fancy way of saying we laser cut some holes just below the waistband.

So I've told many people these are my favorite shorts I've ever owned. I bought them specifically for MTB but I liked them so much I wore them almost every day (to my wife's dismay) for years -- recently I was climbing on this jagged metallic structure on top of a well and heard a huge riiiiip. And a giant 10 inch gnarly, messy rip was there. I have no idea what happened but I think it was my fault, maybe caught it on something? I was bummed, and was about to toss them but remembered their "lifetime repairs" guarantee-- I sent them a picture and they fixed them good as new. They even paid for the shipping. I felt bad because it felt almost like I'm ripping them off when you get into some dumb sh*t and they fix it free of cost. Of course I also bought another pair to assuage my guilt and so that I'm not wearing the same thing every day. Best ever. I hope they can keep it up.
When I first saw these online I thought they were overpriced then I checked the price on Patagonia bike shorts and decided they were reasonable. Glad I did. Great shorts suitable for travel as well as biking. May be my favorite shorts ever.
I find these shorts to fit almost perfect. I wish they were about an inch shorter but I am getting over that. They seem to be the pair I grab most often because they fit great. I will definitely be back for another pair. Keep up the goos work!
Have taken these on a few rides, mostly xc but some dh, and wear them over a bib. So far no weird rubbing. I love having pockets before and after rides, but don’t use them during. Would recommend!
I’ve owned several pairs of MTB shorts (Specialized, 7mesh) and tried on several more (Yeti, Fox, Poc) and these are the best yet. They feel comfy yet durable, fit perfectly and function great.
