We took everything we love about the Tomfoolery Travel Pants and cut them into a 7" short. Same fabric, same features, same ability to go anywhere and do just about anything.
What makes them different is how they show up.
These don’t look like outdoor shorts. No shine, no swoosh, no overly technical feel. Just a clean, chino-style short that works at dinner, on a flight, walking through a new city, or wherever the day takes you.
Under the surface, they’re built like travel gear.
The fabric is soft, stretchy, and comfortable enough to wear all day without thinking about it. A flexible waistband and internal drawstring keep the fit dialed without needing a belt, and the overall feel is easy from the second you put them on.
Storage is simple and secure. Two front zipper pockets, a rear zipper pocket, and a rear button pocket keep your essentials locked down whether you’re navigating airports, bouncing between plans, or just trying not to lose your wallet again.

Why We Made Them
Pair Them With...
Great shorts, I really like the zipper pockets.
Two in the front and one in the back have zippers. It’s nice when you travel to be able to secure your wallet etc with a zipper.
Took them to Europe and now in the northern Great Plains and northern Rockies. I have 2 pairs of shorts and one pair of pants and love them all. Something you might consider adding is a pocket for an EDC folding knife that doesn’t have a zipper closure to accommodate a pocket clip. Maybe along the side seam between the front and back pockets. That would make these even better.

Needed some new shorts to replace worn out ones. Got one pair to test them out, and I’m back ordering more!
So I have been in love with O’Neil Traveller shorts for decades. The drawback is most are too long. 20” and 21”. So I went on a hunt for shorter above the knee travel shorts. Must haves were drawstring and zippered pockets. I did try some 686 shorts and while they are pretty awesome they are a slimmer fit and no zippered hand pockets. I then ordered 2 pairs of KETL’s chinos and virtue in 7”. These are the new favorites! I do like the virtue over the chino only as they are a lighter weight fabric. The chinos remind me of the fabric on under Armour golf shorts. They are still really nice shorts just heavier fabric. I have to order more they are so great! The “blue fog” color is a great colors as well!

Just stop KTL MTN…these shorts have zero right to be as awesome as they are. The material, fit and tech are 10/10. I haven’t stopped wearing them since they arrived and they still look fresh. I love the zipper pockets w/ the half mesh interior.
Great travel shorts! I bought these for a weekend trip to Vegas. Being that it was 100°+ and I was at the pool most of the weekend, I had these on after the pool
Walking around the casino. They’re fantastic, easy to pack and very comfortable. I absolutely love the zipper on the pockets, My favorite. I will buy the other colors.
I love this shorts and already using them many times for travel and daily basis. Great material and the brown color is solid and works with my usual all black attire. The side zipper works well to carry important document during travel as advertise. Probably will buy different color or version of the shorts from KETL.
Comfy, stretchy, classy shorts. Not a huge fan of the zipper pocket on these. Otherwise solid shorts.
I ordered the large and they fit great (6 ft 2 in, 190 lbs). Great style and someone asked about the shorts the first time I wore them which never happens. I love the fit and I love the zipper pockets. I wish I would have found this brand sooner.
These shorts look great after multiple days of use. The length and cut are perfect. The material is durable without being too heavy. Love the combination of pocket options. I plan on buying a second pair.

Awesome Shorts. Got them for my trip traveling to Croatia. Liked the fact that it had zippered pockets. Although I didn’t feel like I needed them with how safe I felt traveling there.
