The Storm Rider 3L is the one-shell quiver we built because we couldn’t find it. A shell that’s truly rain & snow ready, not pigeonholed into “ski jacket” or “rain jacket.” It’s designed to work for resort laps, backcountry tours, mountaineering, & nasty wet days while still being comfortable enough to wear all day.
You get 30K waterproofing & 25K breathability that’s built for hours in heavy rain or wet snow without soaking through. Inside, a knit backer manages moisture & feels good even over a tee.
The performance comes from a premium 3-layer build using two 4-way stretch fabrics: a main shell for comfort & mobility, and a tougher reinforcement fabric in high-wear zones like the shoulders, hood, & seat.
When the effort ramps up, you’ve got real temperature control. Large 2-way pit zips dump heat fast, & the hand pockets are vented too, so leaving them cracked on the climb moves air without giving up storage.
Fit & features are dialed: a helmet-compatible hood with two-way adjustability, waist-strap compatible pockets, an internal zip pocket, & adjustable cuffs & hem to seal out wind & spindrift. Soft-touch chin comfort & stretch-taped seams finish it off.

Wash / Care Instructions
Like all waterproof shells, two best practices make these last a very long time:
- Don’t wash it unless you actually need to. Most of the time, a quick wipe down with a damp cloth is all it takes.
- Don’t store it dirty, wet, or crumpled. Hang it to fully dry after storm days so the fabric, membrane, and seams stay happy.
If you do need to wash it: Wash cold on gentle with a technical outerwear detergent and skip fabric softener (it kills performance). We like Nikwax Tech Wash. Rinse well.
Drying: We recommend air drying. If the face fabric starts “wetting out” (water stops beading and the outer fabric looks soaked), refresh the water repellency with Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In or TX.Direct Spray-On (spray-on is great for targeting high-wear zones). Let it fully dry before use or storage.
