Edition #3: Saturday, October 18th 8am MT
The KETL Mtn. Treasure Hunt Edition 3 is purpose built for you Coloradans to have one hell of an adventure. Appropriately named “The Rocky Mountain Oyster Challenge.”
Several thousand dollars in cash and KETL gift cards are up for grabs for those ready to take on a wild, multi-level treasure hunt I created to reward the spontaneous and adventurous.
Here’s how it works: on Saturday morning, October 18th, we’ll release the coordinates to all 10 treasure jars hidden along the Front Range. Inside each jar are the coordinates that lead you west into the mountains to level two, level three, and finally the grand prize jar, with more cash and bigger gift cards at each stage.
This map explains it all...

- Level 1 has 10 jars scattered along the Front Range, as far north as Boulder and as far south as Colorado Springs. These are the only coordinates released on Saturday morning, October 18th. Inside each Level 1 jar is $100 cash, a $100 KETL gift card, and a list of five coordinates leading to the Level 2 jars.
- Level 2 has 5 jars, each with $200 cash, a $200 KETL gift card, and a list of three coordinates to the Level 3 jars.
- Level 3 has 3 jars, each with $300 cash, a $300 KETL gift card, and the coordinates to the final jar.
- The final jar, hidden somewhere a bit west of Leadville, holds $500 cash and a $500 KETL gift card.
- All jars have already been placed and are buried under rocks. So not only will you need the coordinates, but you’ll also need the visual clue for each jar, which will be shown in the YouTube video. That video reveals the specific rock / area to look for at each spot.
Here's how to partake in this madness:
- On Saturday, October 18th at 8 a.m. MT, be ready to roll with your trail running, hiking, and/or MTB gear, and a full tank of gas.
- The coordinates to all 10 Level 1 jars, along with the YouTube video, will be released at 8 a.m. MT. The video includes the visual clues you’ll need to find every jar in the entire hunt.
- Go after the Level 1 jar nearest to you before anyone else gets it. If you miss it, try the next nearest one, then the next etc.
- If you manage to grab a Level 1 jar, check inside for the give Level 2 coordinates. Map them out and move fast to get to the next one before someone else does.
- Repeat the above, get a jar, use the coordinates to reach the next level, and keep going. It’s an elimination game: 10 jars lead to 5, then 3, then 1.
- Each time you score a jar, text (775-453-0175) or email us (treasure@ketlmtn.com) so we know it’s been claimed. Enjoy your spoils and the chase.
- Once the final jar is confirmed claimed, we’ll release the coordinates for any unclaimed jars. So even if you don’t make it to the grand prize, you can still find treasure in the mountains. It’s one hell of a way to spend your weekend.
- Questions? Just shoot us an email: treasure@ketlmtn.com

FAQ's
Clues, Tips, Tricks?
This page & the YouTube videos on it have all the information you are getting for any of these edition treasure hunts. Watch & read with focus like Bruce Lee, then go ask Jack Sparrow for help. But seriously, be careful, be a smart outdoorsman, bring way more water / food than you think you need, have a satellite SOS device, wear pants / long sleeves, use offline maps etc.
What if I get there & there is no treasure jar?
The status of each jar is listed just above the coordinates noting if it's **CLAIMED** if you don't see the **CLAIMED** that means it's still out there, I hope. There could of course be the rare case where someone finds it & has yet to reach out and let us know. There is an AirTag in most of the jars to help us know when it is found + we can see when the gift card gets redeemed. Each jar has a letter inside instructing the finder to let us know it's found. Historically, everyone has told us right away with a proud smile on their face. But of course you could be in the wrong spot or a bear might have eaten the jar etc. Hunting for treasure is a gamble and you may not find anything but you will still have a fun day outside regardless and that's the point :)
How can I get more info?
Watch the full length YouTube videos on this page which is also on the KETL Mtn. YouTube Channel. That video has all the details you need and will get along with all the information being on this webpage - https://ketlmtn.com/treasure

Time To Gamble 😁
To play into the lucky / unlucky number 13, I’ve got something special. This time there is three jars and three sets of coordinates. Two of the jars have unlucky number 13’s inside them and no treasure. One jar has the actual treasure. Choose wisely, this one is a gamble. Bring way more water / food than you think you need, wear pants / long sleeves, use offline maps (No cell service).
34.052470, -118.816990
34.082140, -118.745540
34.122440, -118.950220
***NOTE: This will not be marked as claimed/found until the actual jar with the treasure is found. So if you find yourself in the right spot and there is no jar, it was probably an unlucky one that someone already snaked. A wise man once told me "No crying at the casino son, you walked in the door didn't you?"***

Tip - Bring way more water / food than you think you need, wear pants / long sleeves, use offline maps (No cell service). This is the gnarliest jar in this entire treasure hunt and will take a serious effort to get to, be extremely careful in all aspects especially planning the time it could take you and the lack of water.
