Regarding UPF Rating...
Our Vent Pants/Shorts technically don’t carry an official UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating. That’s because the fabric is ventilated with extremely tiny needle-sized holes designed for maximum breathability. Since direct UV light can pass through those minuscule vents under very specific conditions, the pants can’t be certified with a UPF rating.
That said, in real-world use, it’s virtually impossible to get sunburned through them or get any meaningful UV exposure to your skin at all. For UV rays to reach your skin through those tiny vents, you’d have to be lying completely still in direct sunlight for several hours without moving at all. In normal use, there will never be any meaningful UV exposure through the fabric.
However, if you have heightened concerns about UV exposure due to skin sensitivity, medical reasons, or personal preference, we totally understand. In that case, we’d recommend checking out our Shenanigan Pants, which are a similarly lightweight option but fully UPF-rated for added peace of mind.

Bought this for the abundance of pockets, on top of the promise of lightweight/quick dry/good for heat. Pants worked very well when I was traveling in a hot and humid climate, and were easily handwashable+dried pretty quickly. My one beef is that the pictures on the website showed you being able to put a phone into the right zippered front pocket. That pocket was a lot smaller than I thought - it can only fit a small phone model (ex. a pixel 10a), and that's if you shove it in really tight/hard. Larger phones or wallets will likely not fit.
These have become my new go to. They are super comfortable and great for the trail.
The pants aren't the same cut as the shorts I gust received. The shorts fit good but the pants are 2" longer in the rear. I sent photos a few days ago showing them side by side.
I wore these for hiking Half Dome in August and they were awesome! Kept me covered but did not overheat and were comfortable. I wore the sun hoodie as well, which was also great.

I've bought stuff via Instagram ads and it hasn't worked out so great. This is not one of those times. I had a hiking trip coming up in the heat and wanted to try some cooler pants. I was able to walk through the forest staying fairly cool, no swishing and the color is nice also. I opted for a roomier fit but was worried it might be too big when I sized up. The drawstring came in handy for that and offered a good fit. While they are a little thin, I was worried that they might tear on a branch. I had no issue whatsoever. While it is a little spendy in comparison to the other stuff I use, but it works and with the lifetime guarantee and free fixes, I am happy I took the plunge.
I really like the pants, but the elastic waist does not elastic enough. It is fine until you start being active. I recently hiked Mont Blanc and wore these on one of the days on the trail. They were awesome at first but before long they started to slip down. I guess I needed a size down. Great products but need a little more zip to the elastic in the waist.
These are by far my favorite pants. They are lightweight, comfortable, and easy to wear. I already ordered more.
Not much to complain about side from left side pocket being too large for a phone. The phone falls sideways and many people like myself prefer it as a phone pocket. Wish there were smaller inseam options but I guess I’m in the minority.
The Vent Lightweight pants are the most breathable pants I've ever hiked in. Quiet and non abrasive with a soft waistband that feels good underneath a backpack. Around a one hour hang dry time after washing at camp.
Love these pants. Very lightweight and breathable. The medium slim fit is a bit too tight for prolonged physical activity but I'm gonna try a large straight leg.
A great product delivers what it promises!
I am 5'5", 135 lbs. Generally speaking, I buy 30/30 jeans/pants. In this case, I bought size small and they fit well. Upon receiving them, I machine washed them and hung them. They dried the next morning.
The back pockets provide peace of mind. According to the video I watched on the Ketl page, there is one particular pocket in the front on the right side for a cell phone. However, when I put the phone in that pocket, the phone was exactly where my torso and my thigh pivoted, which created a weird sensation. Nowadays, everybody carries the phone everywhere, including hiking. I would probably like to have a pocket for my phone either on the back, on the side, or at a higher or lower position in the front, or even above the fly area.
On a very hot day, of course, they are a bit warmer than shorts, but they can reduce/prevent sunburn or bug bites. The breeze blows through the pants a little, which reduces the heating.
