Ridiculously warm. Surprisingly wearable. Built for winter.

The Puffinator is our warmest down jacket, designed for 10–30°F days with 800-fill down and a serious warmth-to-weight ratio. A matte recycled nylon shell blocks wind and a PFAS-free DWR sheds snow and light moisture to keep the loft performing.

Pit zips let you dump heat fast, and the two-way front zipper adds venting and harness compatibility. A dialed hood and hem seal out wind, and the pocket layout is built for winter: soft-touch hand pockets, a chest media pocket, and internal stash pockets for gloves and goggles. Expedition-ready warmth for backcountry skiing or winter mountaineering.

Exceeds Expectations And Then Some

I asked my wife to get this for me for Christmas. I can honestly say it's by far the most comfortable, warmest, lightest cold weather coat I've ever worn. The day after I got it, I took my dog for a 2.5 mile walk on 25° day with winds gusting 20-30 mph. I was ONLY wearing a thin dry/fit long sleeve T-shirt underneath. My body was "toasty" underneath.

Took A Trip To Chicago

Took a trip to Chicago where the temperature was anywhere from 3 to 30 degrees. This jacket kept me warm and also out of the wind when we went downtown for the day! Can’t say enough good things about this jacket and this company!

Really Like The Feel of This Jacket

I had bought a down North face jacket from Dicks. Just returned it yesterday. I think this is the best jacket I have owned. I am not the kind of person who owns many jackets at the same time. I live in the Tundra of Minnesota. I like having one nice spring jacket and one nice winter parka. I hope this lasts for may more years.

Excellent! Got this jacket before the 2026 Winter storm

Excellent

Got this jacket before the 2026 Winter storm. The temps have been 10 to negative 40 (with wind chill). The jacket performs perfectly. Can get by with just a T-shirt if so choose. If you layer up then definitely run the risk of overheating even in super low temps.

The jacket cleans easily. The materials so far performed at a high level. The hood and pockets are incredibly warm. A potential negative is the size of the hood. Like I said, it's very warm and the size can handle helmets. But, for some it may look a big bulky or even goofy. You do have pull straps to reduce the hood bulkiness. Just something to be aware.

Impeccable warmth

Somewhere on the site, Ketl describes the jacket as being "ridiculously warm". That, I thought, was bragging a bit too much. It turns out to be spot on. The Puffinator must stay in your closet until temps drop well below freezing or it will make a steamed bun out of you. Comfortable, great pockets, perfect zippers, the cuffs are genious. I rarely bother with reviews, but this has been so much fun to wear through the cold wave, and photography keeps me out there for hours, often not moving much. Fantastic cold weather jacket!

Exceeds Expectations and then some - XL

I was looking at all the main brands for cold-weather down coats when I came across the KETL Puffinator. Everything was appealing in the reviews and videos including the look, the warmth, the quality, and the broad range of thinking put into the design of this coat. Everything I read or watched said this may be the best designed coat on the market, but I was not yet familiar with KETL.

Fast forward, I asked my wife to get this for me for Christmas. And for the only guy rating this coat 4-stars and complaining about a sweatshirt sleeves bunching up, you'll never need to wear anything that heavy underneath. I have 17" upper arms/biceps, there there is PLENTY of room in the arms and wearing wearing a sweater with an undershirt! Dude, you obviously haven't worn it outside yet.

I'll wrap this up by saying, if you like what you are reading in the reviews, and the videos are also very appealing to you, this coat was better out of the box than what I was hoping for. It's even better looking in person. Get out your credit card and treat yourself. As soon as the "RockyLoft" Jacket comes back in stock, I'm going to purchase it for less cold days. I wrote an email to the folks at KETL, and they responded very quickly with answers, and a little humorous professionalism. I've had 3 friends already asking me where I got this coat .... they'll be buying when items are back in stock.

Congrats to KETL folks for quality & professionalism!

Perfect

Hot weather preferer here....Planned a trip to NY for the new year and I was overly concerned about the cold weather; could I handle it. Coming from Texas where in the month of Dec. the weather has been warm, 80s warm. My preferred weather is warm to hot and planning a trip to NY with ~30 degree weather was good concern for me. I browsed many sites for a jacket that could handle the cold climate why still providing a rugged aesthetic look. And I mean I searched many many sites including some of the top named brands for over a 2 week period. Then KETL popped up and the aesthetics caught my eye, especially the Puffinator Down Jacket. I had already returned a popular jacket and was very hesitant to make another online purchase but I did it. The jackets features, claims and look we're just too good to pass and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The fit is just right for me, a little b**r belly and a Large fit was just right at the wait and chest. The sleeves are great in length where I did not experience shortness when reaching. The hood was great and full zip up really did provide comfort when on the Staton Island Ferry, where there were harsh winds and a temp of about 25 degrees. Mind you, I only wore this jacket with a thermal and a flannel and it truly provided warm comfort. (Of course I also wore a beanie and jeans) I am not big on reviews but this jacket really met my expectations and I hope my review helps you purchase this jacket. Good job team KETL.

Just received and loving it

Unpacked this and loved it from the start. Quality of materials seems good. Fill is nice and puffy. Color is unique, almost black but a lot of dark blue…nice change of pace from the usual suspects in this market. Pit zippers are the real deal and you need them because this coat is warm. Can’t wait for a crazy cold day. Lastly, definitely exceeds my expectations so far!

This guy’s warm

This guy’s warm. Was looking for a warm down that holds heat with the option of venting. Was a little hesitant to order, but previous experience on a return with absolutely no issues made this a no-brainer decision. This jacket delivers as described and looks good doing it. Completely satisfied!

Top Quality Gear

The Puffinator Down Jacket is a great value for the money. To get a 800 fill-power jacket at a 90/10 down/feather ratio at this price point is fantastic. You can easily spend the same or more money with big "brand" names to get a jacket isn't even down, a lower fill-power, or lower ratio of down/feather.

The jacket comes in a small box and is pretty compact when it arrives. Let it breath for a while and it'll puff up like it's filled with air. The jacket is so light compared to how warm it is. This is the lightest and warmest coat I've ever owned. The PFAS-free DWR finish does a great job repelling some light rain without soaking in.

The fit of the jacket is perfect. I'm 6' tall and I typically have issues with sleeve length but these are plenty long enough without covering my hand. There's enough room inside to wear a layer or two but not so big that it feels loose. I like how the tail is just a touch longer to keep drafts out of the back of the jacket.

Overall a solid jacket! They really nailed a high performance piece of equipment that seems like it will last for many seasons. Everything on the jacket is really well made and the fit is perfect. One of the warmest jackets of 2025!

Best winter parka I’ve ever owned. Much lighter than my Canada Goose, Marmot or North Face jackets and much warmer. How do you guys do it? Must be magic.
