The magic is in the near weightless fabric. Our NoFry Sun Hoodie weighs in at only 104g in a size medium. 69g for the short sleeve and 87g for the long sleeve. The fabric itself comes in at just 79gsm.
The thin, breathable fabric allows the shirts to pack down incredibly small & feel weightless on the body. Ideal for adventure travel or any long day in the sun.
These shirts dry incredibly fast and wick moisture making them perfect for every possible outdoor activity and making it easy to rinse and hang dry when needed.
Topped off with discrete thumb holes on the long sleeve and hoodie versions to keep the sun off your hands and the sleeves in place on windy days.

Fabric Details
Crafted from a unique, high-performance grid-knit poly (79gsm). It’s lightweight, breathable, and quick-drying, with a subtle texture that boosts airflow and comfort.
Soft, stretchy, comfortable and designed for sun-soaked missions when the heat’s on the sun is sharp.
Anti-odor control from HeiQ Mint. The gold standard in the outdoor industry for plant based, effective odor control on performance fabrics.
Because this fabric is intentionally built to feel extremely light and airy, it should be treated with a little more care than heavier fabrics. Avoid direct contact with Velcro, sharp edges, and abrasive surfaces to help prevent snags or pilling.

Wash / Care Instructions
To extend the life of this ultralight fabric, wash inside out and avoid washing with Velcro, open zippers, or anything abrasive that could snag or pill the fabric.
You don’t need to baby it, but because NoFry is intentionally built to feel nearly weightless and breathable, it deserves a little more care than heavier fabrics.
Hang dry when you can to help maintain the soft, barely-there feel.

I bought the shirt with a little hesitation.
Both the long sleeve, no fry and hooded no fry sun shirt have been nothing short of unbelievable. It is literally cooler than wearing a short sleeve smart fabric T-shirt. In the past sun protective clothing has felt like wearing a plastic garbage bag. I work outside for a living doing landscaping as well as enjoy outdoor activities and so far I am very impressed. I have used it on days or attempts have been near 90

I bought this hoodie for a recent backpacking trip on the JMT. Once I received the hoodie I looked it over and tried it on. It is extremely light weight material, but the fit and feel was great right out of the package. On my trip it preformed well, it was lite and airy, dried quickly and protected me well from the High Sierra sun. I washed it out in the streams and it would dry overnight. It seemed to have a cool to the touch feel and never felt stuffy like other hoodies I've worn.
However, with it being a lightweight material, it did get some snags and pilling from wearing my pack or brushing against anything that could snag it. Also, when traversing the passes or when it was windy my hoodie would be blown off my head, so I would wear it under my hat during these moments. With that being said, it was never uncomfortable to wear in the fashion. I do wish there was a Fifth Snap to tighten up/secure the hood for added wind and sun protection like the One Snap Hoodie. That's why I gave it 4 stars.
Either way I was truly impressed and pleased with the overall performance, fit, and feel of the NoFry Sun Hoodie. I would highly recommend and buy again!
This shirt is perfect. It is so light, loose and breathable. I live in miami and this is perfect for protecting from the sun during walks, runs, bike rides. The hoodie is nice and big and droops over my whole head and forehead and stays there. It doesn’t blow off or slide back constantly. As soon as I put this shirt on I ordered another one.
If the arms and body were .5" longer, it would be the 100% perfect piece of kit.
Best hiking shirt in Colorado.
I've been hiking all over Colorado for 15 years, and always sweating through quick-dry long sleeve shirts, rolling up the sleeves, and making it even less comfortable. This shirt is amazingly breathable and keeps me comfortable all day. I've never liked hoods before, but this ultralight hood keeps the sun off my neck and I absolutely love it.
Very high quality. I live in area where it is routinely over 100 degrees and these keep you cool( especially once wet) and keeps me from having to apply sunscreen to arms. Highly recommend!

I don't normally write reviews but this is a really good piece of gear. I got the NoFry to keep the sun off my head and arms on my 20 mi bike commute in the Mid-Atlantic.... Humidity of >90% during the summer is not uncommon. The NoFry breathes really well and the knit does a good job keeping the sun off. I'm 6' 185 lbs and the medium fits well though just a bit more length in the body would be nice
I’ve tried several sun hoodies and I can safely say KETL is definitely my favorite. It’s the only one that fit all 3 of my core desires in a sun hoodie: a highly-breathable fabric that wouldn’t make me roast in hot weather; a zipper or snaps in front that allowed me to open it up and dump heat: and sleeves that would roll up and stay up to further help me dump heat when I’m not in direct sunlight. This is now the only hoodie I’m using. Well done, KETL! I plan on ordering another one.
I’ve seen complaints about wind blowing it off your head, but I have yet to experience that. So far it’s stayed on my head, over my hat, with no problem.
About sizing, I’m usually a small or medium, depending on the clothing company. I ordered both sizes from KETL, and the medium was clearly too big for me so I went with the small.
I think I found my favorite hiking hoody! Lightweight but it kept me from getting burned. The hood is big but I appreciate it more than a too small of a hood.
I was skeptical about this hoodie at first, but boy do I love this. Its super lightweight and packable. I took it for warped tour where I spent 2 full days in the sun and got zero burn.
I use it for climbing on hot desert days and its much nicer than some of the thicker ones. That being said, it does get a bit tore up when you are rubbing up against rock but that is expected.
Really like supporting smaller companies with good products and i have been happy with ketl!
This shirt is phenomenal, but by far the most delicate piece of clothing I've ever owned. After 1 day of hiking, it developed holes where the fabric rubbed between my pants' front button and my backpack's hipbelt. I've never had a shirt do that before! After noticing it, I tucked the shirt into my pants so the holes wouldn't get worse.
Awesome. Will buy more. Wearing for work and really love the light nature of the fabric.
